Description Changelog

Description

Play Magnus is a chess app for Android where you can play against the reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen. And not against some abstract AI, but against a simulation of the real playing style of the Norwegian grandmaster at different stages of his career. The app is suitable both for those who are just learning the rules and for experienced players who want to test themselves in a serious game.

Features of Play Magnus

The main idea of the app is choosing Magnus Carlsen's age before a game. Options are available ranging from a five-year-old child who is just learning to move the pieces, to the adult world champion with a rating above 2800. The older the chosen version of the opponent, the more precise and deeper his play - this allows you to smoothly raise your own level without sharp jumps in difficulty. The interface is built on an "open and play" principle: no unnecessary settings, just the board, pieces, and moves. There is also a modded version available that unlocks a lot of money - this gives access to additional features without the need to invest real funds.

Modes and features

Besides games against the AI version of Carlsen, the app has an online mode: you can play against a random opponent or invite a friend for a friendly game. Both options take place in real time, which adds a competitive element. As for learning - after each game you can review the mistakes and understand exactly where a weak position occurred. This makes the app not just a platform for playing, but also a tool for real growth.

Who Play Magnus is suitable for

The app will be interesting for those who want to develop in chess gradually, without the pressure of ratings and toxic online play. For beginners - to learn to think several moves ahead; for intermediate-level players - to hone tactics against a strong opponent. For those looking exclusively for serious tournaments with fierce competition, the app may seem too limited, but for systematic practice it works well.

You can download Play Magnus for Android for free - the APK file is available for installation without an app store. The modded version unlocks additional features right after downloading.
