Plague Inc. is a strategy game for Android in which the player finds himself on the other side of the barricades: not saving the world, but methodically destroying it. You'll have to control a pathogen - a virus, bacterium, or fungus - and lead it from the first infected person to a global pandemic. The game is designed for those who like to think several steps ahead and aren't afraid of unconventional concepts.
Features of Plague Inc.
The player has at their disposal 12 types of diseases - each with its own development logic and set of characteristics. Bacteria spread differently than a prion or nanobot, which means each type requires a separate tactic. The world is divided into more than 50 countries with unique climatic conditions, population density, and level of medicine - all of this affects the speed of infection spread. Advanced AI manages humanity's reaction: governments impose quarantines, scientists develop vaccines, and the player has to adapt on the fly. Notably, the developers were invited to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta to discuss the disease spread models built into the game. A version with a mod - Premium - is available, unlocking all content without restrictions.
Modes and features
Plague Inc. is not limited to the base campaign. Expansions add fundamentally new parasites: Neurax takes control of the brains of the infected, the Necroa zombie virus changes the very mechanics of death, and scenarios based on historical events reimagine familiar eras. In certain expansions, the roles are reversed - the player must now save humanity from an impending pandemic rather than destroy it. The Daily mode offers new diseases every day and competition with players from around the world. Progress saves, achievements, and leaderboards are supported. The interface is adapted for touch control and translated into Russian.
