Samsung has unveiled six new devices at once
At the summer Galaxy Unpacked presentation, Samsung showed off six devices at once: three foldable smartphones and three smartwatch models. The 2025 lineup is aimed at those who have long been waiting for true ergonomics from foldable flagships - and, judging by the specifications, the wait has paid off.
Features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7
The main novelty of the presentation - the Galaxy Z Fold7 - has become Samsung's thinnest foldable smartphone: just 4.2 mm unfolded and 8.9 mm folded, weighing 215 grams. The outer display is a 6.5-inch AMOLED 2X with a resolution of 1080×2520 and an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, while the inner one is an 8-inch QXGA+ (1968×2184) with similar parameters. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy on a 3nm process, 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. The 4400 mAh battery supports fast and wireless charging. The main camera got a 200 MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide module and a 10 MP zoom camera - plus two 10 MP front cameras each.
Galaxy Z Flip7, Flip7 FE, and the Watch8 lineup
The Galaxy Z Flip7 became slightly more compact than its predecessor: 6.5 mm unfolded, 13.7 mm folded, weighing 188 grams. The outer screen grew to 4.1 inches (Super AMOLED, 948×1048, 120 Hz), while the inner one is a 6.9-inch AMOLED 2X with a resolution of 1080×2520. The chipset is the Exynos 2500 (3 nm), with 12 GB of RAM and a 4300 mAh battery. The cameras remain unchanged: a main 50 MP (f/1.8), a 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 10 MP front camera. The Flip7 FE offers the same design and dimensions, but runs on the Exynos 2400 chip - at a more affordable price. As for the smartwatches, all three models - Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and Watch Ultra - run on a five-core Exynos W1000 (3 nm) with 2 GB of RAM and displays with brightness up to 3000 nits. The Watch Ultra is designed for extreme conditions: IP68 protection, water resistance up to 100 m, a temperature range from -20 to +55 °C, and 64 GB of storage for offline music playback. The Watch8 Classic brought back the rotating bezel and also got 64 GB, while the base Watch8 is available in two sizes - 1.3″ and 1.5″ - with 32 GB of storage.
Who is the Samsung 2025 lineup for
These devices are primarily for those who are willing to pay for a flagship experience and want a foldable form factor without compromises in thickness and weight. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is suited for those who value performance, camera quality, and multitasking on a large screen, while the Flip7 is for those who appreciate compactness and style. The watch lineup will appeal to both athletes and those who prefer a classic design with a rotating bezel.
